Sharp and Semiconductor Energy Laboratory (SEL) have jointly developed a new type of high crystalline oxide semiconductor on an IGZO basis. This technology facilitates the construction of touch-sensitive screen displays for tablet PCs or smart phones with significantly improved and higher resolution. The innovative displays have a clearly higher translucency and therefore use less power than those currently on the market.

Sharp unveils new 70-inch High-resolution Multi-touch professional LCD display at IFA

Sharp Visual Solutions Europe will unveil a prototype of its new 70-inch LCD interactive display for professional markets at IFA, Berlin, August 31 to September 5. The high-resolution QFHD (3840x2160) display has a capacitive touch screen and enhances collaboration by allowing multiple users to interact with the screen simultaneously. Sharp will also debut its first QFHD desktop monitor – a 32-inch class (31.5-inch) display – based on an innovative Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) panel that delivers far superior resolution and power consumption, and a new professional 90-inch full HD display. All screens use Sharp’s LED backlight technology to reduce power consumption.
